Life Between Haircuts

I feel like I could use a haircut
but I wonder how much it could
truly change my life.
Last time I had one, nothing changed
I was still poor
I was still stuck
I was still mad
I was still lost
Don't get me wrong, I'll still go get one
But, there is no trim, gel, or scalp massage
that will set me on course elsewhere
I'll still want
I'll still yearn
I'll still yell
And I will
still wonder.
